Crash and Learn - E3: Kern River Rescue
Rescuing a Victim in a Tree
In episode 3 of Crash and Learn, Trevor and Kailee are looking at an accident video from The Kern River in California. We'll be discussing in detail some concepts about strainer rescues, layered safety, emotional state vs. risk management, rescue techniques, and experience vs. training. There were some serious red flags from the outset of this rescue and some very serious challenges that we want to address in this video that are more subtle in nature. This video highlights why training should be an ongoing process and how detrimental high levels of emotion can be to a rescue scenario.
